I Will Travel Anywhere in the World to Photograph Your Wedding

I'm Mark Hartill — a natural, documentary wedding photographer based in Middlesbrough in the North East of England. I love destination weddings. There is something extraordinary about travelling to a beautiful place in the world and photographing two people getting married there — the light is different, the setting is spectacular, and the whole day has a magic that is unlike anything else.

My approach at a destination wedding is exactly the same as at every wedding I photograph back home in Teesside: completely natural, completely natural, completely unobtrusive. I blend into your day, I let you enjoy every single second, and I capture everything real as it happens. Natural portraits, no interruptions, no stopping your day to look at the camera.

Whether you're planning a Tuscan villa wedding, a Greek island elopement, a Parisian ceremony or a New York celebration — I would love to be your destination wedding photographer. Get in touch to discuss your plans.

"Travelling with Mark to Italy was the best decision we made. He was calm, unobtrusive and our photos are absolutely breathtaking."— Destination Wedding · Tuscany, Italy

Your Style, Your Photographer, Anywhere in the World

Many couples planning destination weddings worry about hiring a local photographer they've never met and whose work they don't fully know. Taking your own photographer means you get the style you love, from someone you've already spoken to and trust.

I bring the same natural, documentary approach to every destination wedding I photograph — whether that's in the Amalfi Coast, the French countryside, the Greek islands or anywhere else in the world.

All travel and accommodation costs are included transparently in your destination wedding quote. No surprises, no hidden extras — just beautiful, honest pricing for beautiful, honest photography.

For American Couples

Planning a Wedding in Europe? Bring a British Photographer

Many American couples planning destination weddings in Europe — in Italy, France, Greece or Portugal — choose to hire a UK-based photographer. The reason is simple: the time zones are closer, communication is easier, and a British photographer travelling to Europe has no language barriers or logistical complications.

I'm Mark Hartill, a natural documentary wedding photographer based in Middlesbrough in northern England. I am passionate about destination wedding photography and would love to travel to Europe to photograph your wedding. My style is completely natural and natural — perfect for the relaxed, intimate atmosphere that most destination weddings are designed to create.

If you're an American couple planning a wedding in Italy, Greece, France or anywhere else in Europe, please do get in touch. I'd love to discuss your plans and provide a bespoke quote for your destination wedding photography.

Common Destination Wedding Questions

How far in advance should I book?

For destination weddings I recommend booking as early as possible — ideally 12–18 months in advance. Popular dates and locations fill up quickly. A £250 deposit secures your date.

What's included in the destination package price?

All travel (flights, trains, transfers) and accommodation are included in the price I quote you. You will never receive an unexpected bill. The only thing I ask for on top is a reasonable evening meal on the day.

Do you speak the local language?

I'm British and primarily English-speaking — but that's rarely a barrier at destination weddings. Most European wedding venues work with English-speaking couples regularly. And as your photographer, the only person I really need to communicate with on the day is you.

Will you scout the location before the wedding?

I always arrive at least a day early for destination weddings to explore the venue and surrounding area in the available light. This means I arrive on your wedding day knowing exactly where the best light falls and the most beautiful natural backdrops are.
